Tyler was nice enough to give us some time to discuss his overall recruitment, play style and timing of his upcoming decision. Tyler, who is 6’8 and out of Elkton, Virginia, is currently ranked top 75 in the country within the 2022 class. He has been made a priority by Coach Mike Young and his staff and would be a huge get for any school lucky enough to land him. Tyler could play a 3 or 4 in school and score from all 3 levels. He’d bring a ton of versatility and size to a Virginia Tech team that would love to plug Tyler in on the wing. Tyler will be visiting Blacksburg this weekend along side other top Virginia Tech targets – Rodney Rice and Braden Huff.

Catching Up with Big Time Hokie Target: Mike James

Recruiting

It was a pleasure taking some time to chat with Mike James who is a top 100 prospect in the country within the 2021 class out of Orlando, FL. He is 6’6 with a ton of versatility with a long list of potential suitors across the NCAA (Louisville, Texas A&M, Cincinnati to name a few). As you can imagine landing a player of Mike’s caliber would be HUGE for the Virginia Tech program and would showed continued success on the recruiting front. That being said, let’s get to the interview. Thanks again for giving us the time Mike and wish you the best moving forward!

Checking in With Big Hokies Target – David N’Guessan

David gave us the chance to spend some time with him and check-in on his current recruitment. We spoke of his game, his recent visit to Blacksburg, and his thoughts on Mike Young and the Hokies. David is a 6’8 forward and is top 150 in the 2020 class. He currently holds offers from Virginia Tech, Washington State, DePaul among others. He’s a great guy and hope he’s a future Hokie. Hope you all enjoy the interview!

Breaking: Mike Young Can Recruit

Recruiting

I know this may come as a surprise to some, but guys..Mike Young and his staff can recruit. The common push-back when he was hired was he may be a great coach, but he’s coming to the ACC and won’t be able to recruit with the big boys. A major part of recruiting (unless you are maybe Coach K or Cal) is your assistant coaches, and he hit it out of the park with Coach Frazier and Jackson while retaining Coach Webster. However, it’s also in no way fair to take away from Coach Young’s own recruiting abilities. The Hokies just signed the 6th highest rated recruit in Virginia Tech HISTORY and Mike Young was the driving force. Let’s talk about what the Hokies have already been able to accomplish since Mike Young was hired back in April:

Catching Up With Virginia Tech Target: Myles Tate

Recruiting

Myles Tate is a VT recruiting target out of South Carolina. He’s a 4 star player and a top 100 in the country within the 2020 class. I’m stating the obvious: he would be a HUGE pick-up for the Hokies. Myles was nice enough to give us some time to discuss his playing style, recruitment and thoughts on Virginia Tech. I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I did.

Sitting Down with Nahiem Alleyne: Big VT Recruiting Target

Recruiting

I was lucky enough to sit down with Nahiem Alleyne, who has been recruited by Mike Young and his staff for a LONG time as I found out. He’s a 6’3 guard out of Georgia and has picked up plenty of interest including from P5 schools. He can defend at all levels and has a great shot, I think he would fit perfectly into Mike Young’s system. It was a pleasure discussing his recruitment with him and I think you all with really enjoy this one. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Thanks again Nahiem!

Catching Up with Jaden Seymour: Big Time VT Target

Recruiting

We were lucky enough to get some time with Jaden Seymour the 4 star top 150 player who is a forward out of North Carolina. He stands at 6’7 for now and is part of the 2020 class. For those of you who didn’t know he is also the brother to former Hokie Adonis Alexander, so is extremely familiar with the campus. Honestly, he was an exceptional interview and a great dude all around. Thanks again for giving us the time Jaden! We hope Hokie Nation enjoys the interview:
