Myles Tate is a VT recruiting target out of South Carolina. He’s a 4 star player and a top 100 in the country within the 2020 class. I’m stating the obvious: he would be a HUGE pick-up for the Hokies. Myles was nice enough to give us some time to discuss his playing style, recruitment and thoughts on Virginia Tech. I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I did.

EVTB: Myles, thanks again for your time Hokies fans are excited to hear from you. For the fans who are still learning about you, can you tell us a little bit about your game? Are there any players in particular you try to model it after?

Myles: As a smaller guard I feel like I can get by anyone who’s guarding me, so I try to use that to my advantage and I can really shoot the ball so i model my game after Kemba Walker and Trey Burke

EVTB: That’s two great guards, we definitely see some Kemba in your highlights. You’ve gained a ton of offers thus far, are any standing out to you?

Myles: I like every school that’s has offered, they’ve seen potential in me.

EVTB: Tell us a little bit about your thoughts on the Hokies and Mike Young’s offer. What was your initial reactions to receiving it?

Myles: I was very excited when I received the phone call. I always thank God because I am very blessed to have such and opportunity

EVTB: It seems you and recent VT commit Jalen Cone have a pretty good relationship (at least on twitter) as well as VT target PJ Hall is that fair to say? Was that molded through playing against each other?

Myles: I’ve known Jalen for a while and he’s a great guy and a tremendous talent, PJ is actually my teammate, I’ve know him since we were little boys playing on the same little league together on the same team.

EVTB: That’s great to hear, we’re excited to have Jalen in a Hokies uniform. There were reports you visited Blacksburg recently. Is that true? How did you enjoy the campus?

Myles: Yes that’s true, I loved the campus and the facilities

EVTB: Did you meet the whole coaching staff as well? Fans are very excited about the group Coach Young brought in. What was your overall impression of the staff?

Myles: Yes sir. I met the staff they all treated my family and I very well and that’s important to me they told me that I would fit right in with the program

EVTB: Well that’s great to hear, you definitely would be a welcomed addition. Last question, Do you have any timetable to making a decision or narrowing down your list of teams? It looks like you are visiting USC shortly.

Myles: At the end of my AAU season I will be narrowing down my list.
